IMAGE IMPACT’S 2021 STRATEGIC PLAN
Over the past several months, the Board has been forming a strategic plan to articulate Image Impact’s long-term vision and to set a framework for how we will achieve our vision. Broadly speaking, our Strategic Plan paints a narrative around our problem space, our theory of change, our programming, and most importantly our measures of success. As part of the exercise, we introduced a goal-setting framework called Objectives & Key Results, or “OKRs”. OKRs originated at Intel in the 1980s. The framework has since become popular with large technology companies like Google and Apple, and even with non-profits like the Gates Foundation. We are excited to see the benefits of OKRs with bringing alignment, focus, and clarity to our work. As both a practice and a philosophy, the Board has adopted OKRs to support the way we prioritize, manage and deliver on our commitments to our students and to our constituents. Specifically, our OKRs are anchored on four year-long priorities: (1) Securing funding, (2) Building internal capacity, (3) Defining measures of success, (4) Innovating and adapting to our new normal.
The Board finalized and approved our Strategic Plan in January 2021. Our Strategic Plan is a living, breathing document; as conditions change, we will evolve our strategies and tactics, all while keeping a relentless focus on why we are here – for our students. As we look ahead into 2021, we remain confident in our ability to serve our students and expand our reach to even more students. Despite the challenging conditions, we are hopeful we will continue to successfully fight for equal access to employment opportunities for college students with disabilities.
