VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTION Image Impact International seeks individuals to serve on its Advisory Council and provide ongoing advice and support to our Board of Directors. These members may be career professionals, leaders in the disability advocacy community, educators, or influential individuals and mentors well-equipped to support Image Impact’s fight for equal access to employment opportunities for college students with disabilities. Advisory Council members will provide the input, feedback, ideas, and suggestions necessary to achieve Image Impact’s short and long-term disability advocacy goals.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as external ambassadors and advocates for our mission which is to fight for equal access to employment opportunities for college students with disabilities
Advise on core programs and support strategic/organizational planning.
Develop a list of internship relationships and mentor opportunities for our students.
Gather feedback from students to gage the success of our Mentoring 4 Impact program (a two-semester career readiness program for college students with disabilities).
Compile Alumni Association contacts at selected City University of New York colleges.
Conduct email and/or phone outreach to Alumni staff as needed.
Coordinate virtual networking events for students and professionals.
Support the Young Professionals Committee, which consists of Mentoring 4 Impact program graduates.
Secure speaking opportunities (attain engagements and/or serve as a speaker).
QUALIFICATIONS
Well-connected with the ability to expand our network of resources.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to execute on ideas.
A leader in their field- education, disability, or HR fields preferred.
Volunteer Details
Must be willing to provide two references.
Minimum of four virtual hours per month.
Allow Image Impact to publish your name as a member of the Advisory Council.
One Year term preferred.
