MENTORING 4 IMPACT is a two-semester certificate program for college students with disabilities, many of whom are the first in their family to attend college. Staying in college, graduating, and improving the prospect of employment are the fasts ftop goals of this program. Partnering with the City University of New York (CUNY) Accessibility Services offices and CUNY LEADS (Linking Employment, Academics, and Disability Services), Image Impact developed Mentoring 4 Impact for juniors and seniors with disabilities at CUNY Guttman Community College.
DISABILITY 4 IMPACT is a disability awareness program, which aims to reduce the stigma often experienced by students living with disabilities, especially on campus and in the workplace. Students with disabilities are enrolling in college at increasing rates. This under-represented population faces challenges when entering the workforce, including loss of confidence, lack of self-esteem, and the judgments employers make about people with disabilities. This interactive program for organizations, mentors and instructors focuses on disability disclosure, etiquette, and attitudes.
