Likewise, the attendants represented diverse careers, cultures, and interests. Entrepreneurs, Army Veterans, and Image Impact International volunteers passed, and present met at the Microsoft building to sharpen their trainer and mentoring skills.
Among the attendants were Image Impact International’s President, Pamela Judd; Lois Lynn, business entrepreneur and member of Toastmasters International; Lisa Butts, U.S. Army Veteran, business entrepreneur and member of MyEcon; Gregory Gershuny, U.S. Army Veteran, Head of Operations for MEM International Trading Company, and Image Impact International VP Development; Christine Alvarez, events planner and operations director; Diane Monique-Adjanonhoun, consultant, teacher, trainer and former Image Impact International volunteer residing in France; David McKnight, AICI member, business entrepreneur, and consultant; Brad Angevine, adjunct professor, executive leader and general manager, and Image Impact International Mentoring Chair; Marisol Rosero-Allen, U.S. Army retired Veteran, and Image Impact International VP of Human Resources.
The training session was very informative, interactive, and relatable. The trainers used: hands-on, multimedia, brochures, handouts, and provided a clear overview of the activities to guide the audience. Additionally, the instructors provided a comprehensive outline of the goals and objectives of the conference and revisited them upon completion of the event. The instructors also exemplified the skills that mentors ought to master. By explaining and assessing attendants’ learning skills, for instance, the trainers brought to light each attendant’s self-awareness about their preference for processing and delivering information. Equipping the audience with this knowledge, enhanced the group’s empathy, cultural awareness and emotional intelligence strengthening their mentoring skills. Even thoughthe presentation had a brisk overview of learning models such as Bloom Taxonomy and teaching strategies, the attendants left knowingthat for learning to succeed, the delivery of information must be measurable and memorable. Finally, the session concluded with a critique and an assessment of the material covered.
