In a confusing world, planning helps you reach your goals. When you set the plan, enact the plan, and measure your progress, you receive metrics that help you determine if you are on track to reach your goals.
One good way to ensure that you are on track is to start at the end and work backwards. This means looking at each of the components that are needed to achieve your goals.
• What is the goal you want to achieve?
• What are the steps to achieve the goal?
• What have you already achieved?
• What courses of actions are needed next?
• Create a timeline. When you visualize the plan, write it out while seeing yourself achieving the goal. Make the goal become a reality.
A self-fulfilling plan is a pact that you make with yourself. Successful planning is key to reaching achievable goals.
• Long Range
Begin with the end. Long-range goals are typically accomplished in 1-5 years. Make sure that each goal is worthwhile and can be realistically achieved.
Review long-range goals and their deadlines. Then, work backward to determine what needs to be accomplished by the halfway point.
• Short Range
These are monthly goals that lead to the achievement of intermediate goals.
• Daily Tasks
Prioritize daily tasks in their relation to short-range goals. Success is inevitable!
