NEW YORK CITY – Our debt of gratitude goes to the Focus for Health Foundation for their second year of awarding Image Impact International with a generous grant to support our latest pilot program, Mentoring 4 Impact (M4I). M4I addresses the competencies of students and help them develop a plan, make positive career connections, learn from mentors, develop interpersonal awareness and listening skills, and build a more resilient future with a defined vision and success plan through our 16-session certificate program.

“Focus for Health is happy to support Image Impact International. Congratulations on all you’ve accomplished so far, and I know you will continue to change lives for the better in 2019,” shares Shannon Mulvihill, R.N., Executive Director, Focus for Health Foundation.

The M4I pilot combines mentoring with career training for students with disabilities in an all-in-one program. Over 75% of the students at CUNY John Jay are also first-generation.

We connected with CUNY John Jay in early spring, met with them in May, and received curriculum approval in July. Our first Info Session for students was held on 9/5/2018. Our 2018-2019 pilot began on 10/3/2018 and ran through March 2019.

Special thanks to Barry Segal, founder of Focus for Health Foundation, for awarding Image Impact International with our first $5,000 to launch the Mentoring 4 Impact program. The goal of this inclusive and diverse public college pilot is to reduce the stigma surrounding disability on campuses and in the workplace.

Mentoring 4 Impact provides first-generation college students and/or disabled students with access to our diverse community of mentors and industry professionals. Through mentoring and practical experience in leadership, communication, and professional skills, students gain the support they need to thrive in college and the workplace. This career advancement certificate program features networking opportunities, mentoring leaders, and guest speakers.
