Brad Angevine, President

Image Impact International

Brad Angevine is an experienced organizational leader on the private sector side, with a 30+ year background in consumer-packaged goods (CPG) marketing and innovation. He began his career at large multinational companies, where he learned a classical consumer marketing approach. Later, he moved on to working for more entrepreneurial companies, developing deep experience in working in lean work environments. In 2018-19, he chaired the Mentoring 4 Impact Pilot at CUNY John Jay College, leading a successful initial career training and mentoring program, which is now being expanded within the CUNY system.

Prior to working with Image Impact, Brad served as Chief Marketing Officer for CYC (Consult Your Community), which is a not-for-profit that focuses on helping college students get consulting experience while still in college through working with local businesses in the college community. This is a win-win in that it helps the students in their job search (it gives them “real world” experience), and also helps strengthen and grow local small businesses in college towns.

Brad has also been an adjunct professor at LIU, teaching entrepreneurship, and has spent over 20 years interviewing students for college admission as a volunteer alumnus interviewer. In addition, he consults with start-up businesses generated out of university settings, serving as an industry mentor to help universities and professors who have patented new technology to commercialize their inventions.

Brad has an Economics degree from the College of William & Mary in Virginia and received his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He has a long legacy of teachers and educators in his family and is an avid runner/marathoner.

Alen Amini, VP Education

Alen Amini is a recent graduate of a dual degree MPA/MBA at the Tuck School of Business and the Harvard Kennedy School. A former high school math teacher and Vice Principal with Teacher For America, he will be transitioning to serve as a management consultant with The Brigdespan Group.

Amini is currently the executive director of Carry the Future and COO at the New York City non-profit journalism organization. A Cincinnati native, a Fulbright alum and has previously worked in the White House.

Patty Chen, VP Operations

Patty Chen is a strategic technology and operations leader with extensive experience in the development and execution of enterprise initiatives. She currently serves as Principal Consultant of an international management consulting firm, transforming businesses through M&A deals and divestiture transactions. She has designed and implemented organization-wide solutions including governance frameworks, operating models, ERP systems, network infrastructure strategy, and the build of new technology-centric organizations. Patty holds an MBA from Columbia University.

Chen previously founded a 501(c)3 organization, providing music education and experience for students in juvenile detention centers and after school programs. Having seen and experienced the impact of direct mentorship and education, Patty was inspired to join the cause at Image Impact International and support the education-based mission, to empower and ready first generation students for success.

Greg Gershuny, VP Development

Mr. Gregory Gershuny is a US Army Veteran and a graduate of the prestigious Defense Language Institute in the Russian Language. After receiving his B.A. from SUNY Albany, Mr. Gershuny went on to work in Russia for almost two years in various expatriate roles. The first was in helping to build and grow the International Press Club in Moscow. This was followed by a role with Grand Metropolitan as the Business Development Manager for all of the former Soviet Union. Lastly, he was brought on as an Aluminum Trader with American International Ore Corporation (AIOC).

Mr. Gershuny is presently the SVP and Head of Operations for MEM International Trading Company in New York. Mr. Gershuny is experienced and knowledgeable in international financial and commodity markets, operations, marketing, hedging strategies and risk management. He has been consistently involved in building businesses and increasing profits by expanding markets, identifying opportunities to save costs, and negotiating deals with suppliers, vendors, and lenders. He has expertise in strategic planning (globally), marketing, hedging programs, business development, global trading, cost containment, organizational leadership, real-time market analysis, client relationship management, revenue profit optimization, compliance, risk, and quality assurance. Mr. Gershuny was most recently instrumental in the signing of two multi-million dollar off-take agreements for both silicon and magnesium metal. These greenfield projects will provide revenue for 10-15 years and diversify an existing commodity trading book that was singularly focused on one commodity.

He currently sits on four volunteer board of directors. Two are in the mining industry and two are non-profit. Mr. Gershuny was a founding member of the NYMEX aluminum contract. He has received a Congressional Certificate of Merit for Outstanding service to his School and Community as well as a National Defense Award from the US Army.         

Colin Ghira, Audit

Colin Ghira is currently a Vice President of Finance for 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc., a leading provider of gourmet food and floral gifts for all occasions, with several well-known brands. In his current role Mr. Ghira oversees the Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting and Internal Controls departments and manages employees at 10 different locations. During his tenure at 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, he cut costs in the Internal Controls department by 40%, improved the quality and timeliness of quarterly reporting to the SEC, sourced and integrated 3 different financial systems and work closely with IT and other departments to improve the operational efficiency of the organization with a focus on revenue and cutting costs.

Prior to joining 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Mr. Ghira was a Manager in the audit department of KPMG, providing professional attest services to both public and private companies such as The Estee Lauder Companies, Lukoil USA and Caithness Energy. Mr. Ghira graduated Summa cum Laude with a Master of Science in Accounting from Long Island University. Mr. Ghira is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York since 2008. He is a former professional volleyball player and his hobbies include martial arts, swimming, running and hiking. Mr. Ghira is involved in various volunteer services such as helping out at soup kitchens across Long Island and dedicating time to activities at children’s hospitals. He is very excited about the opportunity to dedicate his experience in the accounting and financial world to help first-generation college students succeed in life. 

Pamela Judd, Immediate Past President

Image Impact International

Pamela Judd helped to found Image Impact International, a global Non-profit 501(c)3 whose vision is to powerfully impact the careers of first-generation college students by preparing them to succeed in the workplace.  Her commitment to first-generation college students began with her own family – her mother immigrated but never got the chance to attend college, despite being an exceptional student and successful entrepreneur.  Ms. Judd earned her undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and a Master’s degree in Disability Studies from the City University of New York. Her research on Disability and Fashion Advertising is showcased in Disability 4 Impact’s ground breaking curriculum.  As a former Disability Employment Manager at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Ms. Judd spearheaded a Disability Champions pilot for regional managers and staff. Diversity initiatives under her leadership included career development for women and mature workers. She chaired an internship outreach program with City College of New York and designed inter-generational workshops for Federally Employed Women.  Ms. Judd is active in a local Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) University Relations committee. Past board experience includes Toastmasters International, where she received a Presidential Citation, the organization’s highest honor. A certified Myers-Briggs® practitioner, she is a past president of the New York Myers-Briggs® chapter. She served on the Executive Board of the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI) and received an IMMIE award for philanthropic service.  Ms. Judd earned Image Consulting and Color Specialist certifications from the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Charnette Lewis is the author of Time Out 4 Me, an inspirational book on how to keep yourself on track and develop yourself, spiritually, professionally, financially and mentally. She has also developed the audio CD, Hurdling Life’s Obstacles. Ms. Lewis is employed by New York Life Insurance Company, where she has worked for 25 years as an Accounting Analyst.  She attained a B.A. degree in Accounting and Finance from Rutgers University. Ms. Lewis has also served on the Board of Doors of Hope, where she provides accounting expertise.  Ms. Lewis has been a member of the Minority Interchange for over 15 years. Throughout her membership, she has participated in uplifting and motivating Career Conferences to enhance personal and professional career development.

As a Minority Interchange New York Chapter Representative, Charnette works diligently for the organization and continues to grow as a public speaker and mentor. Ms. Lewis is a long-standing and active member of Toastmasters International, where she has chaired district conferences and organized Youth Leadership programs to help teens to develop their speaking and leadership skills.  Ms. Lewis takes time out of her schedule to be a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of NY.  It is a rewarding and fulfilling experience where you can help to develop and mold future leaders.

Tu-Lien Nguyen, Image Impact International Chief of StaffTu-Lien Nguyen, Chief of Staff

Tu-Lien Nguyen is thrilled to be part of Image Impact International as Chief of Staff. She knows firsthand the power of mentorship and outreach services: Tu-Lien is a member of the inaugural class of Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) and was awarded this prestigious distinction and full academic scholarship from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The GMS Program was established to provide outstanding students of color with the opportunity to complete both undergraduate and graduate education and increase the representation of these groups in target disciplines. As a child of Vietnamese refugees who fled their country due to war, pursuing higher education was never a priority –the priority was always just survival in a new country. This mindset meant that higher education was a luxury and that she would need to start working to help support the family as soon as she was able. However, the scholarship, paired with incredible and consistent outreach and support from high school and college counselors, ultimately enabled her to earn a B.A.S. in Asian American Studies and Psychobiology from UC Davis, and an M.A.in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from NYU. She also pursued a Ph.D. in Higher Education and Organizational Change from UCLA.

Tu-Lien is a former think tank researcher and mental health counselor whose professional and personal interests revolve around relationship building, company culture, identity development, and social capital for people of color and underserved communities.

Tu-Lien since made a career change and currently runs a consultancy that provides personalized ad hoc executive assistance to entrepreneurs, in addition to working as an executive assistant at the D. E. Shaw group. She spends her free time doing construction on her home and enjoys live music, meditation, visiting homebound senior citizens through the Meals-on-Wheels Friendly Visiting program and playing with her dog, Islay.

Marisol Rosero-Allen, VP Human Resources

Marisol Rosero-Allen is a highly motivated, results oriented professional with over 20 years of Human Resources (HR) experience. She is passionate about learning, leadership, traveling and service to others. She is also an Army Veteran who was responsible for a myriad of HR tasks and functions and led countless projects to fruition in her over 25 years of military service. She spearheaded the enactment of the first Joint Reception, Staging, Onward Movement, and Integration (JRSOI) while serving in Army North in support of Homeland Security. She has also traveled to Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean. As a first-generation immigrant with military service and a doctoral student, Ms. Rosero-Allen understands the cultural and financial challenges of pursuing a higher education, living and serving abroad, and working in a diverse environment.

She has a Master’s of Human Relations from Oklahoma University, a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Cameron University, and is pursuing a Doctoral degree in Management with a concentration in Global Leadership at Colorado Technical University. She is a certified Green Belt in the Army Lean Six Sigma program and serves on the Board of Directors of the Waller County Democratic Club.

Susie Schainost, Secretary

Susie Schainost has over 30 years of experience in the art of teaching students at all levels, from pre-school to graduate school. A leader in Non-profit organizations, she oversees Image Impact International’s Training 4 Impact and Disability 4 Impact programs. She is well-versed in Bloom’s Taxonomy, hands-on learning, Montessori and independent education philosophies and approaches.  Ms. Schainost’s specialty is helping talented minds who learn differently (many through the lens of Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Tourette’s syndrome, ADDs, OCDs, and invisible impairment). Ms. Schainost has taught middle school students in urban districts.  As a founding Head at The Independent School, she served as a middle school principal and teacher for 18 years. As a university professor of education and literature for over 10 years, Ms. Schainost has addressed conference audiences at Kansas State University, University of Nebraska, University of Oklahoma, Wichita State University, and Pace University, as well as national and international organizations.  Ms. Schainost earned post-secondary degrees from the University of Nebraska (Elementary Education and English), Wichita State University (Educational Administration and Leadership) and CUNY (Disability Studies). Priscilena Shearon, VP Program Evaluation

Priscilena Shearon is a caring and qualified teacher with over 18 years of experience in teaching. She believes in incorporating meaningful curriculum plans and developing young minds through results-oriented teaching. She is an advocate of all education endeavors that anyone aspires to reach. Ms. Shearon earned her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Nova Southeastern University and completed her Bachelor of Science at Tennessee State University.  She is pursuing her lifelong dream to obtain a Phd in Higher Education Leadership, Management, and Policy from Walden University.

Her pride and joy are her two daughters. She is proud of their graduate and undergraduate accomplishments. She is very excited about the VP of Program Evaluation position and is always ready to meet any challenges head on.

Craig Weitzel, Audit

Craig Weitzel is a bank examiner whose duties include evaluating management, internal controls and audit.  He has experience managing operational risk in the wholesale mortgage sector.  Mr. Weitzel spent thirteen years in active and reserve status in the United States Army and was assigned to a Federal law enforcement task force for several years. Mr. Weitzel is a Certified Fraud Examiner with a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Georgia.

He has been an active volunteer for Lekotek of Georgia, a Non-profit for children with disabilities since 2003. He resides in Atlanta, Georgia, with his wife of 23 years and three children.  He enjoys cooking and the outdoors.
